Benefits of volunteering
Volunteering is beneficial not just to the community, but to the volunteers themselves.
Becoming a volunteer can help you develop vital employability skills and meet new people. It can also give you a chance to improve on old skills, put them to use and give back to the community.
Before volunteering with Care & Repair I worked as an electrician until my retirement. I then needed something to do to fill my time. Helping people gives me such a great sense of pride.A Care and Repair volunteer
As a Care and Repair volunteer, you will receive an induction and regular training sessions. You will also have the flexibility to carry out jobs at a time that is convenient to you.
We reimburse our volunteers for any expenses incurred through jobs, such as travel and phone costs.
Before volunteering with Care & Repair, I was a volunteer with an animal charity. I was unemployed and wanted to build my employability skills. Volunteering has made such a big difference to my life.A Care and Repair volunteer
